TravelAle is a travel and outdoor website built for one simple reason: to help families — especially families with babies, toddlers, and young kids — spend more time outside with less stress and fewer surprises.
Planning a trip with little kids is different. A campsite that looks perfect in photos can be a nightmare with a toddler who wakes at dawn. A hiking trail described as “easy” can be anything but with a baby carrier on your back. We started TravelAle to answer the questions families actually ask before they go: What do toddlers sleep in when camping? How cold is too cold? What do you really need to pack — and what can you safely leave at home?

How We Create Our Content
Every guide on TravelAle is researched before it is written. We check official sources such as national and state park services, campground rules, weather and safety agencies, and manufacturer specifications for any gear we cover. We compare real experiences shared by traveling families, and we update our older guides when prices, rules, or recommendations change, so what you read here stays as accurate as we can make it.
Where a guide includes personal experience, we say so. Where it is based on research, we say that too. If we ever get something wrong, tell us — corrections from readers make this site better, and we fix mistakes openly.
Who Runs TravelAle
TravelAle is run by a small independent team of travel writers and outdoor enthusiasts, led by our editor, Emma. We are not a big media company; we are people who love road trips, campgrounds, mountain trails, and slow mornings outside — and who know how much harder (and more rewarding) all of that becomes with kids in tow.
